Description

58 and 60 Church Road are a pair of cottages dating from the late 16th century to the mid-17th century. They feature square-panelled timber framing with painted brick infill, along with some painted rubble and dressed stone that may have replaced or covered the original timber framing. The cottages have a thatched roof with decorative ridge thatching and brick stacks. They are single storey with an attic and have a rectangular plan.

The entrance front shows exposed timber framing towards the left gable end, with two 19th-century three-light canted oriel windows and two plank doors with single glazed panes situated between the windows. The left gable end has been partly rebuilt in painted brick and is lit by a 20th-century two-light casement window. There is an axial stack and a projecting stack at the left gable end, while the right gable end is hipped. A flat-roofed 20th-century extension at the rear is not of special interest. The interior has not been inspected.
