Description
Collum End Farmhouse is a former farmhouse that has been converted into two houses. It dates from the 16th to early 17th century. The building features large blocks of coursed squared and dressed limestone, along with square-panelled timber framing that has rendered and painted brick infill. The roof is made of artificial stone slate, and there is a red brick stack from the 18th century that has been restored in 19th-century red brick. The main structure is rectangular, with a 20th-century extension added to the right gable end, and there are also 20th-century extensions at the rear that are not of special interest.
The farmhouse is single storey with an attic and has a twin-gabled facade typical of the early range. Much of the timber framing has been replaced by coursed squared and dressed limestone at the ground floor level. The ground floor features two 3-light 19th-century metal casements. The door to No 90, located at the far right, is a 20th-century plank door with a diamond-shaped door light, while a 20th-century fixed light is situated to the left. Above, there is a two-light 19th-century casement with leaded panes. The left-hand gable has two 20th-century two-light wooden casements with plank hoods positioned side by side, and a similar 2-light casement is found on the ground floor of the left-hand return, with a 2-light 19th-century metal casement above it. The ground floor of the 20th-century gable has one 3-light metal casement, with a 2-light casement above it. All casements feature leaded panes. The interior has not been inspected.
