House now flats and attached railings. c1832, with later additions and alterations. Reddish-brown brick with painted stucco front facade, concealed roof and cast-iron verandah and railings. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with attic and basement, 3 first-floor windows. Ground floor has horizontal rustication. Entrance to left, 5 steps to part-glazed door with pilaster strips and sidelights with blind, segmental overlight. Tripartite window: 2/2 between 1/1 sashes, plain reveals, sills. First floor: French windows with 8 panes and margin-lights, double-chamfered surround. Second floor has three 6/6 sashes with plain reveals and sills. Basement has part-glazed board door, 5/6 sash and 6/6 sash, plain reveals, sills. Frieze, cornice, blocking course. First floor has continuous verandah with double-stick-with-anthemion-motif struts and similar balustrade. INTERIOR reputed to have ornate cast-iron fireplace. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: lancet area railings and to sides of steps. HISTORICAL NOTE: Dale Street was laid out c1832, the east side built by 1834.
