Description

Number 13 is a house built around 1832, with later additions and alterations. It features pinkish-brown brick with painted stucco on the front facade and a Welsh slate roof, while the porch has cement tiles. The property includes a cast-iron verandah and railings.

The house is three storeys high with a basement. The front has two first-floor windows and a single-storey entrance bay on the right. A bay window extends from the basement to the ground floor. The ground floor has five roll-edged steps leading to a recessed entrance with a part-glazed door that includes stained glass and an overlight, all set within a porch supported by two Tuscan pilasters. This porch has a frieze, cornice, and a balustrade with bulbous balusters. The bay window features 1/1 sash windows under elliptical arches with a cornice.

On the first floor, there are 10-pane French windows with blind boxes and plain reveals. The second floor has two 6/6 sash windows with plain reveals and sills, with the window on the right set under an elliptical arch. The basement has a part-glazed door, and the bay window includes a 3/6 sash window between two 2/4 sash windows, all under elliptical arches. The property is topped with a cornice, blocking course, and copings.

To the right side of the building, there are blind openings, three each on the first and second floors. The first floor of the front facade features a continuous verandah with a balustrade decorated with a double-rod-and-anthemion motif.

The interior has not been inspected. The property also has subsidiary features, including lancet area railings. Historically, Dale Street was laid out around 1832, and the east side was built by 1834.
