Description

Vine Cottage is a 17th-century cottage with later 20th-century additions and alterations. It is timber-framed with whitewashed plaster infill and has a 20th-century tile roof. The cottage originally had a 2-unit plan, although it has been altered. The gable end faces the front, with two storeys and an attic. There are three windows set very closely together. It has a 20th-century door, porch, and casement windows with leaded lights. A stone external stack has a late 20th-century brick shaft to the rear. The interior has been altered, including a 20th-century staircase and blocked doorways. Visible timber framing includes a ceiling beam with a broad chamfer. There is an open fireplace with a bressumer, which may not be original. A late 20th-century single-storey timber-frame addition is located to the right.
