Description
House. Dating from the 16th/early 17th century, Wisson Hill is a timber-framed building, partially rebuilt in stone, with roughcast rendering and an old tile roof. Brick chimneys are visible, including a large internal stack at the junction of a cross wing and an 18th/19th-century external stack towards the right end. The house was probably originally a single-ended hall house with a jettied cross wing on the left side. It currently has a two-storey, three-window front. The entrance was added in the mid-20th century. Windows are a mix of 18th-century casements with leaded lights and later 19th and 20th-century casements. The right-hand wall exhibits exposed timber framing consisting of long vertical panels with two braces and jowled posts, with whitewashed brick infill. The rear of the property is constructed of stone and some brick. The interior has not been inspected.
