Description
Holly Cottage is a house located in Welford-on-Avon, dating from the 17th century, with a large extension added in the early 20th century. The structure features a timber frame set on a rubble plinth, with painted brick infill and renewed tile roofs topped with brick end stacks. The building has a two-unit gable-end plan and includes a wing attached at an angle.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a two-window range, with a single-storey wing that has a single-window range and an attic. The gable end displays exposed wall studs, a tie beam, and principal beams. The entrance is located in a 20th-century gabled porch, which contains a modern door. To the left of the entrance, there is a window with a two-light leaded casement. A 20th-century addition projects to the left, featuring a three-light casement on the ground floor and a gabled dormer with a two-light casement on the first floor. The left side of the building has an end stack and a late 20th-century garage. The right side displays exposed framing and windows with leaded casements. The rear gable also shows exposed framing, with a stack positioned off-centre to the left and a gabled dormer on the wing. The interior has not been inspected.
