Description
Wheelwright Cottage is a house located in Combrook, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with quoins and features a steeply pitched hipped thatched roof with stone ends and internal stacks. The building has a 4-unit plan with a rear outshut.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a four-window range. The entrance, situated to the right of the center, has a timber lintel above a plank door set in a wooden frame. There is a blocked entrance to the left of the center. Both the ground and first floors have four windows, each with timber lintels—some of which are chamfered—over two-light small-paned casements. To the right, there is a thatched extension, and at the rear, there is a single-storey outshut. Additionally, there is a 20th-century entrance. The interior has not been inspected.
