Description

Three houses stand on Village Street, Combrook, dating to the late 17th century. They are built of coursed limestone rubble with a steeply pitched corrugated-iron roof, coped gables, stone end stacks, and a cross-axial stack, all with brick shafts. The houses follow a three-unit plan.

The exterior has a symmetrical two-storey, three-window front. Two entrances feature plank doors; the left entrance (No. 13) has a timber lintel, while the right entrance (No. 14) has a stone lintel. The ground floor windows are recessed and chamfered, with label moulds. No. 13 has a window to the left of the entrance with a three-light leaded casement, and a window to the right with a three-light mullioned window. No. 14 has three three-light mullioned windows with a lowered sill and renewed mullions. The first floor has three smaller, similar three-light mullioned windows with leaded glazing. A single-storey extension to the left has a corrugated-iron roof and an entrance with a plank door. A 20th-century extension is present to the right. The rear elevation includes a lean-to outshut.

The interior was not inspected during the listing process.

Nos. 13 and 14 were originally listed on 5 April 1967, recognising their group value.
