Gardeners Cottage Approximately 170 Metres North West Of Compton Verney

Gardener's Cottage, located approximately 170 metres north-west of Compton Verney, is a late 18th-century building with minor additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed squared stone with dressed quoins and features a hipped Welsh slate roof, complete with lead rolls along the hips and ridge, and squat stone return lateral stacks topped with yellow clay pots.

The cottage has a two-unit plan with a wide short wing at the rear, a single-story 19th-century wing on the left end, and a small 20th-century re-entrant block at the back. It stands two storeys tall and has an almost symmetrical three-window façade. A top chamfered stone cornice runs along the top. The entrance, located to the right of centre, features a 20th-century lattice porch and a flush-panel door. The windows are adorned with dressed stone flat arches above two-light small-paned casements, with a blind window positioned above the entrance. To the left end, there is a slate-roofed brick addition that includes 20th-century casements. The rear wing has a hipped roof and features both two-light and three-light casements.

The cottage is situated next to the kitchen garden of Compton Verney.
