Description
Gardener's cottage and adjoining kitchen garden walls, built in the late 18th century and mid 19th century, with alterations made in 1986. The structure features ashlar, dressed stone, and brick, topped with a plain tile roof. It has a chamfered plinth and coped gables with kneelers and finials, along with two ridge stacks and a single side wall stack. The cottage is two storeys high and consists of three bays in a T-plan layout. The windows are chamfered double lancets.
On the south front, there is a central Tudor arched door with a Webb monogram above it. To the left of the door is a double lancet window, and to the right is a projecting wing featuring a triple lancet window. Adjacent to this wing is a yard boundary wall with a door. Above the central door, there is a gabled dormer to the left and another double lancet window to the right.
The north side includes a flat-roofed porch at the return angle, with a double lancet window above to the left and a cross-eaves gabled dormer to the right. The adjoining brick garden walls have flat stone copings and a rectangular plan with a bisecting wall. Each of the east and west sides has a gateway, while the south side features a dressed stone wall with a central gateway flanked by two capped square piers and topped with ramped flat coping.
