Description

Athlone Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with a 19th-century lean-to on the left side. It is constructed from regularly coursed ironstone and features a cement slate roof with old brick end stacks. The building has an L-plan shape, with a wing extending to the rear on the left. It is two storeys high and has a three-window range. The entrance consists of a part-glazed flush six-panelled door with a simple hood above it. The cottage has late 20th-century casement windows and a blocked central window, with painted wood lintels throughout. The lean-to addition is on the left, and there is a one-storey-and-attic wing at the rear. The cottage is included for its group value.
