Description

The Old Manor and Old Manor Cottage are a house and cottage that were formerly several cottages, dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with Old Manor Cottage possibly from the 17th or 18th century. They are built from coursed squared ironstone and feature thatched roofs made of water reed with straw ridges. The Old Manor has coped gable parapets and a stone ridge stack at the junction with two ashlar shafts and a moulded cornice, while Old Manor Cottage has a brick end stack. The buildings are arranged in an L-plan, with Old Manor Cottage forming a wing to the right.

The Old Manor is two storeys with an attic and has a two-window range. A splayed angle features a half-glazed four-panelled door with a hood mould. There are stone double-chamfered mullioned windows with hood moulds, a three-light late 20th-century window to the left, a two-light central staircase window, and a single light above the door. An eyebrow dormer contains a two-light staircase casement with a horizontal glazing bar. The interior is noted for having an open fireplace.

Old Manor Cottage is one storey with an attic, and its main front is on the left return side with a one-window range. It has a central late 20th-century half-glazed door and a late 20th-century three-light mullioned window to the left. There is a single staircase light and a two-light window to the right, with a single light above. The gable end features late 20th-century two-light casements with concrete lintels. The interior has not been inspected.
