Description

Westfield Farm House, now a house, was built in the late 18th or early 19th century. The main part of the house is constructed of squared coursed ironstone, while the right return side is of red brick with a decorative dentil cornice. It has a slate roof with coped gable parapets and brick end stacks. The house has a double-depth plan and two storeys with an attic, originally featuring a single-window front. Gables face the street. The front door is part-glazed with six panels, topped by a pedimented hood supported on shaped brackets. A two-light casement window is situated above the door. Leaded two-light windows are located in the gables. Most casement windows have glazing bars and painted wooden lintels. A low, single-storey range extends to the right, with a slate roof and brick stack; a lower section of this range has a tile roof. The end wall and rear of this range are built of brick. A blocked doorway is visible, and the lower range has double plank doors with a painted wooden lintel. The return sides incorporate three-light casement windows. Late 20th-century windows are present on the first floor of the left side. The rear of the single-storey range features a basket arch doorway and a two-light leaded casement window. The interior has not been inspected.
