Description

Chestnut Bank is a mid-18th century cottage, part of a row, located on the north side of Southam Road in Priors Marston. The cottage is constructed from coursed squared ironstone, with a concrete tile roof and 19th and 20th century brick end stacks. It has a two-unit plan and a two-window front. A part-glazed, six-panelled door is set within a simple open porch supported by iron and covered with corrugated iron. A small, 18th or 19th century canted bay window is on the left-hand side, featuring glazing bars. The windows are 20th century two-light casements with horizontal glazing bars, and are set beneath painted wood lintels. 20th century additions have been made to the rear of the cottage. The building is included on the list for its group value.
