Description
Rose Cottage is a cottage, dating from the 17th or early 18th century, part of a row on the north side of Southam Road in Priors Marston. It is constructed of ironstone rubble, with some cement on the first floor. The roof is tiled, with a stone ridge stack and end stack to the cross gable, both having brick shafts. The cottage has a through-passage layout with a cross-wing to the rear. It is two storeys high and has a single-window front. The central door is half-glazed. To the left is a 19th-century three-light casement window with horizontal glazing bars. There is no window on the first floor to the left. To the right, there are a three-light and a two-light first-floor casement windows with glazing bars. The windows have painted wooden lintels. The left return side has irregular window placement. Inside, the cottage has broad-chamfered beams. There is an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer. Some windows are fitted with panelled shutters.
