Description
Westwood House is a house built in the mid-18th century, with a small addition from the mid-19th century on the left side. The structure is made of squared coursed ironstone and features a diagonally-set cement slate roof with coped gable parapets and moulded kneelers. The stone end stacks have 19th-century brick shafts, with the left side rendered. The addition has a slate roof. The house is designed in a T-plan with a rear wing and has two storeys with a four-window range.
The entrance features a half-glazed, fielded four-panel door located between the first and second bays, which is topped by a simple gabled hood supported by brackets. To the right of the door is a lengthened three-light stone mullioned window with hood moulds. On the left, there is a 19th-century three-light casement window and two-light casements, all of which have horizontal glazing bars and painted wood lintels. The addition includes a large three-light window with glazing bars and a small two-light casement above it, both also featuring painted wood lintels. The interior has not been inspected.
