Description

Mutton Barn is a 17th-century barn with an attached shelter shed located on the north side of Wood Lane in Aston Cantlow. The barn is timber framed, featuring jowled posts and tension braces, with brick infill and a high lias plinth. It has tiled roofs and consists of three bays with a central doorway. Inside, there are jowled posts and windbraces. The attached shelter shed, which is at right angles to the barn on the left, has four bays and is supported by brick pillars with a queen strut roof. At the time of the last survey, the barn was undergoing conversion into a dwelling.
