Description
The Mill Cottage is a cottage dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-20th century. It is constructed from whitewashed regular coursed stone, with the right section possibly being plastered over timber framing or cob. The cottage features a thatched roof, a brick ridge stack, and a stone external stack with brick shafts. It has a three-unit plan, is one storey high with an attic, and has a two-window range. The mid-20th century glazed door is accompanied by an open porch that has twist balusters and a thatch hood. The windows display irregular fenestration, consisting of both old and mid-20th century leaded-light casements, along with a gabled dormer and a swept dormer. The right return side of the cottage has a broad external stack. Inside, there are chamfered ceiling beams, an open fireplace, winder stairs beside the fireplace, and a straight flight staircase.
