Description
Church Farm includes a barn and a shelter shed, located approximately 130 meters southeast of the farmhouse. These structures date from the 17th to 18th century and are timber framed with tension braces and brick infill. The right end and return side of the barn have been underbuilt in late 20th-century brick, and there is a high lias plinth that has been patched with brick. The barn features a 20th-century tile roof, while the shelter shed has older tiles. The buildings are arranged in an L-plan, with the barn consisting of three bays and missing doors. The left return side of the barn has jowled posts. Inside, there are coursed lias retaining walls, a central post supporting the tie beam, and diagonal braces to the wall posts. The roof has queen struts with wind braces, and some timbers have been reused. The shelter shed is also L-plan, measuring six by three bays, with 18th and 20th-century brick pillars and one 19th-century cast iron column. It has a half-hipped gable and a queen strut roof. The buildings are situated on a moated site and form part of a group with the Church of the Holy Trinity, Church Farmhouse, and the barn range.
