Description

Two cottages, dating from the early 18th century. The cottages are constructed of whitewashed brick with a string course band. They feature timber-framed gables with light framing and whitewashed brick infill. The roof is tiled, incorporating older tiles, with boarded eaves, and a brick stack in the centre of the ridge. The plan is of a double-depth design. The cottages are two storeys high, with a two-window front. The entrance to Old Green Cottage is in the left return side, with a 20th-century glazed door and open-fronted porch. An additional entrance to The Old Green is at the rear. Windows are 18th- and early 19th-century casements with glazing bars, with the ground floor windows set beneath segmental brick arches. A fire window is also present. 20th-century casements are located on the sides. The interior was not inspected, but Old Green Cottage is reported to have an open fireplace. Significant 20th-century additions have been made to the rear.
