Description
No. 2 Sheep Street is a town house, now used as offices, dating from the late 15th century or early 16th century, with later alterations. The building features a timber-frame structure with stucco and a tiled roof that includes two brick stacks at the rear. It has two storeys and a two-window range. The ground floor is stuccoed, while the first floor juts out on curved braces and shows the ends of the joists, topped with a timber cornice. The entrance is located to the right of the centre and consists of a plank door. The ground floor has five- and three-light transomed windows with leaded glazing and applied timber-framed aprons, while the first floor features three-light gabled half-dormers separated by a cornice. There are gabled wings at the rear. The interior is noted for its exposed timber-framing and chamfered beams.
