Description

Jarrett’s Cottage is a house, dated 1747. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone with coped gables, and has a slate roof with brick end stacks on stone bases. The house originally comprised two units, and has a 2-storey, 2-window front. Windows are 20th century three-light casements with stone flat arches to the ground floor and wooden lintels to the first floor. A 20th century door, also with a stone flat arch, is set within a 20th century lean-to porch positioned centrally. A moulded datestone, bearing the inscription ‘J/IM/1747’ in bas-relief, is located on the right gable end, with a moulded hood above. A 19th century one-storey range with a slate roof is attached to the left side. The interior has not been inspected, but is likely to be of interest.
