Description
The Cottage is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of brick in a Flemish garden wall bond to the front and coursed limestone rubble to the rear. The roof is tiled, with brick end stacks. The house follows a two-unit plan, and has two storeys plus an attic. The front elevation features a two-window range; the ground floor has three-light casement windows, and the first floor has two-light casements. A central six-panelled door has a flat hood above it, and all the windows and the door are set beneath wooden lintels. There is one gabled dormer window from the 19th century. A one-storey stone and brick range was added to the left side in the 19th century. Inside, the house has chamfered spine beams.
