Description
The stable block, located approximately 25 meters northwest of Whitley Farmhouse, dates from the early 18th century. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill and a brick base on a stone plinth, topped with a tiled roof.
On the exterior, the box frame is intact on three walls, while the south wall has been rebuilt in brick. The south elevation includes an entrance with a timber lintel and a segmental-headed entrance, accompanied by a segmental-headed window to the right. The north elevation has a shuttered opening at the ground floor and another at the loft level.
There is a later lean-to structure of box-frame construction attached to the west elevation, featuring a two-bay roof supported by a queen-strut truss and single purlins. The interior has not been inspected.
