Description
The stable block to the north of Ledburn Manor House is a building dating from the early 16th century, with alterations made in the mid-18th century. It features heavy timber framing with diagonal braces on the gable walls, which have later brick infill. The front of the building has been rebuilt in chequer brick, complete with a moulded brick plinth and eaves, as well as corner pilasters with red brick quoins. The roof is covered with old tiles. The structure is two storeys high and consists of two bays.
In the left bay, there is a 20th-century casement window on the left, a stable door with a barred rectangular fanlight to the right, and a barred wooden window above the door. Both ground floor openings have segmental heads. The right bay contains a garage entry, with a hayloft door situated above it. There is also a lean-to at the rear.
Inside, the roof features curved wind-braces, original principals, and some heavy ordinary rafters, along with a central truss that includes a tie beam and an arch-braced collar. The intermediate trusses have been altered.
