Description
The building is a set of domestic stables, likely constructed after 1874 by George Devey and his associates, and has been altered over time. It is made of red brick featuring some blue diaper patterning, with half-timbered gables and tiled roofs. The structure includes wooden louvres topped with pyramidal roofs and lead ball finials.
The stables are arranged around three sides of a courtyard, with a wall partially enclosing the front. The central range features a gable with a hayloft door, a tile-hung clock tower with a pyramidal roof, an archway to the left, and a garage entry to the right. The single-storey range to the right has a central gable above the door and four casement windows, three of which are leaded. The left range includes a square-plan brick tower with a pyramidal roof and a wrought-iron weathervane, along with a gabled house that has one and a half storeys, leaded casements on the first floor, and 20th-century wooden casements and a door below.
