Description
Cottage Nurseries is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations from the 19th century. It features whitewashed roughcast over timber framing, with some areas of plastered infill. The roof is made of corrugated iron over thatch, and there is a brick ridge stack from the 19th or 20th century. The building has a two-unit baffle-entry plan and is one storey with an attic, containing two ground-floor windows. The entrance has a four-panelled door framed with simple moulding and topped with a flush rendered vertical pediment. There are 19th-century three-light windows with glazing bars, while the left side has a 20th-century bow window and a 19th or 20th-century three-light casement window above it, featuring horizontal glazing bars. The right side shows exposed timber framing. At the rear, there is a swept dormer, and there are also 20th-century whitewashed brick single-storey additions. The interior has not been inspected.
