Description
The Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with an early to mid-19th century wing. It features a timber frame with brick infill, while the wing is constructed of brick. The roofs are covered with plain tiles, and there is a brick internal stack as well as a ridge stack on the wing. The building has a two-unit plan that extends to form a T-plan, with the 17th-century range creating a cross wing on the right. The house is two storeys tall with an attic, while the 19th-century wing has one storey and an attic.
The Cottage has three bays, and the 19th-century wing includes an open timber porch at the angle. The entrance features a plank door, and there are two- and three-light casement windows with glazing bars throughout. Most of the ground-floor windows have brick segmental arches, and there are no first-floor windows. To the left, there is a small single-storey range, and the cross wing has no windows facing the road. The left return side has three-light casements, while the right return side displays a three-window range. Additionally, there are two roof dormers. The interior has not been inspected.
