Description
5 and 7 Rugby Road is a house dating from the 17th century. It is timber-framed with brick infill and cladding, topped by an old tile roof featuring brick stacks at the ridge and end. The main range has a crosswing to the left and stands two storeys high with a two-window range. There is a 19th-century four-panelled door with an overlight set in a 19th-century brick lean-to porch on the crosswing. The right facade of the crosswing features 19th-century three-light 18-pane casements, and the ground storey casements are adorned with brick segmental arches. Extensive framing is visible on the left side of the crosswing, and it is noted that the building retains its original rafters. The interior has not been inspected. Part of No. 7 is a 19th-century extension of the main range and an additional crosswing, which is not considered to have special architectural interest.
