Description

Gladwish House is a house dating from the 17th century or earlier, with a 19th-century facade. It is timber-framed. The ground floor is clad with chequered red and grey brick, while the first floor is tile-hung. The roof is covered with plain tiles. The main range is accompanied by a cross-wing projecting slightly to the left end. The cross-wing has a hipped roof to the front, with a gablet. A central ridge stack rises from the wing, and a rear stack sits to the left of the main range, with a smaller ridge stack towards the right end. The house has an irregular arrangement of five casement windows: two 2-light windows in the wing and three 2-light windows in the main range. A ribbed door is set in a 19th-century brick porch located at the left end of the main range. A two-storey addition, set back, extends to the left of the cross-wing, featuring a glazing-bar sash window. The interior has not been inspected.
