Description
This building is a barn located approximately 20 meters southeast of Dunton Hall, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of red brick with a roof made of plain tiles and slate, hipped to the southwest. The barn has an L-shaped plan, featuring a main range with seven roof bays and three threshing floors, oriented northeast to southwest and facing southeast, with a rear wing extending to the northeast. It is a single storey structure with three cart entrances located to the left, right, and center. The northeast gable displays an exposed timber-framed roof truss that includes two collars and a saddle at the apex. Inside, the barn features tall king-post roof trusses that support two pairs of purlins, with raking struts connecting the tie beams to the principals and from the king-posts to the principals, along with straight wind braces.
