Description
Ivy Dene is a cottage that likely dates from the 17th century but was largely rebuilt in the 18th century. It features a timber frame, though much of it has been replaced with brick, and has a plain tile roof with a brick ridge stack. The building has a two-cell baffle-entry plan and is one storey high with an attic, showcasing dentilled eaves. The front has two windows, which are casements with segmental heads, and there are gabled attic dormers. A central gabled porch with a ribbed door adds to its character. The left-hand gable displays exposed framing, though it is partially hidden by vegetation. There is also an 18th-century ogee-headed door in the right-hand gable end. The interior has not been inspected but may hold some interest.
