Description
This barn, located approximately 25 meters north of The Ashes, dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with some minor alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed dressed and squared stone, topped with a tiled roof featuring verge parapets supported by corbelled kneelers. The barn has two levels: the upper level includes two hay loft doors with block dressed vents arranged in pairs on either side of the doors. The ground floor features eight openings, five of which were originally two-light chamfered mullions; the mullions for the center and left-hand openings are now missing. There is a heavy lintel above the entrance, which is positioned towards the left-hand end and has a boarded stable door. Additionally, there is a Tudor-arched door at the rear. This barn is part of a complete 17th-century farm group.
