Description

This milepost, located on the A53 in Longsdon, dates from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and stands approximately 500 millimeters high. The design features a circular shaft base topped with a fluted conical cap. The head of the milepost is inscribed, with one panel on the left stating "LEEK/3/MILES" and two panels on the right indicating "NEWCASTLE/8½ MILES/BURSLEM/6½ MILES".
