Description
Nos. 2, 2A and 4 Church Street is a house or row of cottages, now used as shops, likely dating from the early 17th century. The building features some internal timber-framing but is primarily constructed of stone, topped with a red plain-tiled roof.
The exterior consists of two storeys and has a four-window range. To the left, there is an inserted shop window next to a wide chamfered archway. To the right, there are two late 19th-century shop fronts, separated by a doorway that has a chamfered stone architrave and lintel, which was either inserted or recut in the 19th century. Above the shop window on the left, there is a single three-light wood casement window, while beyond it are stone mullioned windows with three and four lights, all set within moulded architraves, likely from the 17th century. The building has end and rear wall stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
