Description

St Edward’s Vicarage is a house dated 1714, as indicated by a rainwater head. It is constructed of well-coursed squared stone with a plain-tiled roof. The building is two storeys high with a three-window front, and includes an advanced gabled wing to the right, which is an early 19th-century addition. A doorway is located to the right of the centre of the main range, likely originally central before the wing was added, providing access to a wide entrance and stair hall. The windows throughout are 12-pane sash windows, featuring Gothic arched glazing in the upper panes, set within moulded stone architraves, likely dating to the early 19th century. The advanced gabled wing to the right provides a further two-window range with similar window styles. A further wing was added to the rear in the late 19th or early 20th century, featuring a large oriel window on the first floor that looks out over the churchyard. Internally, the wall panelling and staircase appear to relate to the original early 18th-century building.
