Description
The screen and entrance wall to the Chatwell Court driveway is a structure from the mid-19th century, possibly incorporating parts of an earlier house. It is made of coursed stone, with a smooth finish only on the front. The wall stands approximately 3.5 meters high and is arranged in a large 'U' shape, centered on the driveway, with a short return to the northwest side. The front features a steeply pitched roll-moulded ridge and an entrance gateway at a higher level, which has a Tudor arch flanked by gabled pilaster buttresses. There is also an earlier four-centred arch doorway located on the rear return.
