Description
Brick Kiln Cottage is a mid-19th century brick kiln and cottage located in Blymhill, Great Chatwell. The building is made of red brick and features a red plain and shaped tile roof, with a ridge stack positioned to the left of center. The cottage has two rooms, separated by a cross passage that connects the kiln house to the east. It is two stories tall and has two windows on the front, with segmental-headed casements flanking the entrance. There is a stone-headed cross passage door located roughly central to the rear of the stack. The kiln house is of similar length to the cottage and has a blocked window on the right side, with a loft entry on the east gable. At the rear, there are cast iron casements. Inside, the brick kiln is incorporated into the structure, featuring a circular plan and a cone shape, with openings on the east side and a truncated top now covered by the ridge.
