Description
The front wall and gateway to Holcombe Court is a mid-19th century structure made of grey local chert rubble arranged in rough courses, with cream-coloured limestone ashlar detailing. This tall boundary wall features weathered coping and is located on the south-east side of the grounds, facing the village, separating the estate from the road. The wall turns at the right corner and extends north-westwards up the lane towards the Church of All Saints, reaching as far as the Priest House. At the right end, the wall rises over a tall round-headed arch with a moulded surround that frames 19th-century wrought iron gates. To the left, the wall curves into a secondary gateway, and further left, it ramps down to a lower level. Near the Priest House, there is a blocked arch-headed niche that once housed a water fountain.
