Description

The entrance gates and wall surrounding the grounds to the south of Clevedon Court date from the mid-19th century. Located immediately to the left of the lodge at Clevedon Court, the gates feature two low stone gatepiers with moulded cappings. The double openwork wooden gates include some twisted metal uprights. The boundary wall, which is attached to the left gatepier, sweeps forward towards the road and continues west along Tickenham Road. This wall undulates before running back into All Saints' Lane and is primarily constructed of coursed rubble, with flat pilaster buttresses at intervals. The top of the wall is cemented. There is a Gothic doorway set in a raised section of the wall opposite the north end of Court Lane, and a second pointed doorway in another raised section near All Saints' Lane. After turning the corner into All Saints' Lane, the boundary wall ends at the entrance to the farmyard at Court Farm. Clevedon Court and all listed ancillary buildings at Clevedon Court, including the boundary walls, form a group.
