Description

The crenellated wall and circular tower at the north-east corner of Clevedon Court are believed to date from the 13th century and are likely remnants of the original kitchen and domestic offices. This tall rubble wall, which features a crenellated top, forms the eastern boundary of the terraced garden at the rear of the house. It rises in stages to meet a small circular tower that also has rubble walls and a crenellated parapet, with a small glazed opening on the outer side. There is a 19th-century lean-to Gothic extension with a pantile roof and a pointed door attached to the east side of the wall. This structure is listed as Grade II* due to its significance as part of the original arrangements of Clevedon Court. Clevedon Court and all listed ancillary buildings, including the boundary walls, are recognized as a group.
