Description

The boundary walls enclosing the graveyard of the Church of All Saints are likely from the 19th century, with some parts possibly being older. They are constructed from local stone rubble and surround the churchyard on all four sides. The south and east walls are relatively low, while the north wall is taller, and the east wall is the tallest of all. The south wall, which is adjacent to the front of the Priest House, features the main gateway flanked by 19th-century ashlar posts that are square in section with plain caps topped by low pyramids. The tall east wall, which also borders the Priest House, separates the churchyard from the grounds of Holcombe Court. This wall is more neatly constructed than the others and includes a large two-centred arch made of cream-colored limestone ashlar. These walls are an important visual element of a charming group of listed buildings near the Church of All Saints, including the Priest House, the Old Vicarage, and Holcombe Court.
