Description
This is a canal milepost located on the Shropshire Union Canal, which opened in 1843 and was engineered by Thomas Telford. The milepost is made of cast iron and features a T-shaped plate that is divided into three panels. The panels indicate the distances to Nantwich (38 miles), Autherley Junction (1 mile), and Norbury Junction (14 ½ miles).
