Description
No. 27 on St John Street is a shop that dates from the early to mid 18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and has a tiled roof. The building has two low storeys and features a single-window range. There is an ashlar plinth, a first-floor sill band, a top cornice, and a brick parapet. The entrance includes a doorcase with a cornice and a half-glazed door. To the right, there is an entry with a rusticated wedge lintel and key above a plank door. The window on the left end has pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice, with four-light fixed glazing. The first floor has a window with a rusticated wedge lintel and key above a two-light casement. There is also a rear wing.
