Description
23 and 25 St John Street are two shops likely built in the early 18th century. They are constructed of brick, partly roughcast, and feature a tiled roof. The buildings are single-storey with an attic and have a two-window range, with two gables on the front. The shop fronts include recessed entrances, and the entrance to No. 25 is an early 20th-century design with leaded upper lights and a central half-glazed door. On the first floor, there is a window with a 20th-century casement to the left and a window with a four-light casement, cornice, and leaded glazing to the right. At the rear, there is a gabled wing. Inside No. 25, there is an upper gallery that surrounds the space on all four sides, featuring an early 20th-century splat balustrade.
