Description
The wall to the front and right return of the garden to Number 20 is a Grade II listed structure located in Lichfield. It dates from the late 13th century and the 18th century, with a gate added in the late 19th century. The wall is made of dressed stone, with some repairs and rebuilding done in brick, and features a tile roof on the gate. The wall is attached to Number 20 and curves around the corner, ending at a gate set within a gabled portal that has a gabled roof. The gate features a pointed arch with a tile impost and hood, along with a tile cornice. This wall is believed to be part of the boundary wall of the Franciscan Friary, which was founded in 1229, rebuilt in 1291, and dissolved in 1538.
