Description
This building is a garage located immediately to the west of Number 15 on The Close in Lichfield. It is likely a former barn, dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with later alterations. The structure features a timber frame with brick infill and a tiled roof. The gabled front has brick infill between the upper parts of the wall posts, and there is a segmental-headed entrance for the garage or coachhouse with paired plank doors and a mullioned square opening above. The gable displays close studding with two narrow leaded lights.
On the left side, the ground floor is made of brick, while the first floor is close-studded with braces. There is a segmental-headed entrance with a plank door, flanked by segmental-headed windows that have small-paned iron glazing and opening lights, along with some blocked openings at the right end. The rear features a brick lean-to outbuilding, and the gable shows an exposed collar truss with struts. The right side has a brick facing.
