Description
The building is a garage that was originally constructed as stables in the late 18th century and later altered in the mid to late 20th century. It is made of rubble stone with larger quoins and has a stone slate roof. The structure features three bays and is one room deep with a loft.
On the side facing the house, there are two up-and-over metal doors with a panel above, and a lean-to stone buttress situated between them. To the right, there is a boarded door that opens in two halves, supported by a timber lintel. The gables have parapets with cross-gablet apices. On the right side, there is a stone trough set into the wall with a timber lintel above it, and a two-light casement window with a timber lintel.
Inside, the building has a tie beam truss with a collar, which is likely made from partly reused timber, along with one pair of purlins and a heavy square ridge. The garage is listed mainly for its group value with the adjacent rectory.
