Description
The cross in the churchyard, located about 5.5 meters north of the porch of the Church of St Michael, features a medieval base and a shaft from 1883, likely designed by F.S. Waller. The stone structure has a base that is approximately 3.5 meters square, consisting of two plain steps leading up to a single-stone square base at the center of the platform. The top of the plinth is chamfered, with a moulded edge above it. The square cross shaft above shows a marked taper and has a trefoil-headed recess on the west face intended for an inscription. The head of the cross includes a ring and circles drilled into the angles. The inscription reads, "THE / CHURCH WAS / RESTORED / A.D.1883 / PHILIP MORRIS / RECTOR / ALF. PERRET / C. HODDINOTT / CH. WARDENS."
